Joy at ARLO, as we sum up 2025's runway fashion focus
Share
This past season the global fashion narrative has taken a definitive pivot: the intense gloss of maximalism is giving way to the poised power of structure and a refined palette of quiet strength.
On the major runways for S/S and A/W26, we’ve witnessed a resurgence of tailoring and elegant restraint. In that movement, the essence of the Signature collection has found its perfect moment.
The Runway Wake-Up Call:
Tailoring returns with a modern twist
Whether you were watching Saint Laurent’s razor-sharp suits or exploring the work of lesser-known labels, structure is most definitely back. At Giorgio Armani’s Milan show, for example, broad-shouldered jackets and loose-yet-constructed trousers underlined an enduring belief that tailoring is armour.
Meanwhile, city-dwellers and professional women are clearly craving pieces that aren’t just fashionable, they want items that serve.
Muted palettes
Editors and colour pundits alike have noted that the dominant hues of the season are changing: from full-on brights to sophisticated earth tones and soft neutrals. According to Pantone, the key colour for 2025 is “Mocha Mousse” a chocolate-coffee-toned neutral that speaks to our desire for “comfort” in colour. British Vogue
Other commentary highlights that “muted earth tones and vibrant accents” are the real story this year. Wunderlabel
In short: the mood is shifting from show-y to quietly confident.
Imagine Our Joy at ARLO HQ…
As we watched these runway shifts unfold, just as we prepare to launch our own brand of handbags for professional women. It felt almost prophetic. We’ve been designing with this very vision in mind: structured, minimalist, intelligent luxury for women whose lives demand both form and function.
As the runways of Paris, Milan and London showcased clean lines and quiet tones, from YSL's sculptural tailoring to Victoria Beckham’s tonal layering, we recognised our own design DNA reflected right back. ARLO was conceived precisely for this moment: bold yet refined silhouettes inspired by the likes of Tom Ford and Alexander McQueen but interpreted through a modern lens of practicality. Our debut collection, Signature, is a true reflection of that DNA.
Minimalist, bold silhouettes
Now, the runway may show us sculptural beauty, but the city-professional knows that function is as important as form. Editorials recommend that a true work bag should balance style and utility: “Durable, spacious enough for laptop, notebook, planner… and lightweight enough to carry on a commute.” Vogue+1
This is exactly where Signature operates:
- internal compartments sized for laptops/iPads + documents
- organized sections for keys, mobile, accessories
- durable materials that withstand the city rhythm
- straps and handles designed for shoulder, back or hand carry, whichever your rhythm demands.
The Signature pieces draw inspiration from those stalwart, iconic brands known for strong lines, confident shape and luxury presence. But rather than being merely decorative, these silhouettes serve: they create a frame for the woman as much as they accompany her day. Think clean-structured bodies, elongated handles and subtle twists in traditional tote and backpack designs.
At ARLO, we believe that true luxury isn’t loud, it’s purposeful. Each bag balances sharp structure with interior harmony: dedicated compartments, laptop sleeves, hidden zips and space for the essentials that keep a woman’s world moving. It’s where the runway aesthetic meets real-world functionality. It's fashion that works just as hard as you do.
Made for the Modern Woman
In a world where work, travel, creative output and personal life blend seamlessly, your wardrobe has to do more. It can’t just look good, it must perform. That means tailoring in your outfit and organisation in your accessories.
- Presence: A well-constructed silhouette commands attention. The Signature range gives you that subtle authority.
- Cohesion: With simplicity you’ll avoid clashing across seasons, making each piece a longer-term investment.
- Function: When you’ve got meetings, commutes and a dinner date in one day, your handbag must keep pace. The Signature range is not an afterthought, it’s a partner.
Our Conclusion:
The message is clear: this year’s runways are preparing us for next year's ethos: it's not just about what you wear, it's about how you wear it. Tailoring isn’t a costume and muted colour isn’t indecision. They are statements of control, composure and readiness.
That's what ARLO is all about.
After all, style begins with what you carry and ends with how you feel carrying it.
